Empowering Citizens: Political Will and the Climate Crisis

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Resilience in the face of climate change is most-often thought of in a physical or geographical sense, e.g. raising seawalls, undergrounding electric transmission wires, securing backup power for critical community centers, etc. The forgotten aspect of this view is building resilience in community members. We believe communities are most resilient when their members are empowered and informed to advocate for themselves, and the issue of climate action is no exception. In agreement, 350 Colorado, Clean Energy Action, and Citizens Climate Lobby - Boulder have partnered to co-host this tri-session. You’ll hear a 20-minute presentation from each group, and the floor will open for questions at the end. Participants will learn to articulate the case for immediate climate action regardless of audience; understand various possible approaches to addressing the climate crisis; exercise their own personal and political will by strengthening their Citizen Power and their capacity to Build Movements.
