"Complexity can only be held by community"Parker J. Palmer, activist, writer, educator. As environmental citizens - community members dedicated to deep thought and meaningful action to create a more just and resilient world- we grapple with complex ideas, systems, policies, and practices. Each individual along the generational spectrum experiences and confronts these issues in different ways, from apathy to outrage to action, and often it takes more than a single person working alone to make a change. Using the award-winning Earth Force Community Action and Problem Solving process, this workshop will engage participants in dialogue and practice, creating cross-generational youth-adult partnerships that aim at solving local community environmental issues through civic engagement. Participants of all ages are encouraged to participate to enrich the inter-generational dialogue. A special invitation is extended to teachers, students, educators, activists, and environmental experts who want to learn more about bringing this process into the schools.
