Nature-Connected Rite of Passage: Contemporary Approach to an Ancient Technology

For many tens-of-thousands of years, our ancestors have used Rites of Passage to strengthen the bonds of family and community by channeling the chaotic energy of life transitions into ceremonial containers that are intentionally designed to foster deep connection to nature, to others, and to the self. The Rite of Passage process is also designed to recognize and help nurture the virtuous leadership qualities and sacred gifts within each of us that are treasured in most cultures past and present. This ancient social-spiritual technology that has been shaped by deep history, ecology, wisdom, and now modern science and psychology is an immensely powerful tool that can be utilized to bridge the modern chasm of separateness that is causing so much harm in the world today. The new paradigm is upon us and is calling for practices that will shift humanity into harmonious relations with all of creation. Rites of Passage is the keystone in that transition.
